About me.... |
TeacherIn my heart I am a teacher. I see opportunities to teach in almost every thing I do. Formally, I have been an educator for over twenty-five years on campuses and districts spanning grades Pre-K through 12 to college in a variety of contexts. I am currently an assistant professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the Educational Foundations and Leadership department.

LearnerLearning is a constant for me. My formal learning opportunities have deeply changed me. My college and graduate school experiences really challenged my thinking and pushed me to see beyond my own walls. My experiences with National Board of Professional Teaching Certification, Writing Project, and my own professional learning groups have been critical in my growth as a person and educator. My constant informal learning includes my love of travel, reading, and learning from peers.

AdvocateI advocate for revolution in education through writing and speaking opportunities. What I know is a if every classroom and every school was led by expert educators, we would change the world of each child.
